Susan Brot, MSW, LMSW
Associate Director of Field Education and Advisement
Prof. Susan Brot has more than 25 years of experience in direct practice, program development, social administration and social work education. She spent 10 years in the labor movement developing innovative social service and educational programs and administering a national retiree service department. Prof. Brot has had extensive experience serving as a field instructor in multiple settings as well as field advisor, adjunct lecturer and admissions application reviewer for Columbia University School of Social Work.
Currently, Prof. Brot is the Associate Director of Field Education and Advisement developing and maintaining relationships with more than 100 social service agencies throughout the New York Metropolitan area that serve as field placement sites. She created and teaches the Advanced Integrative Practice Seminar and serves as a field liaison. Prof. Brot coordinates the TCGSSW Aging Education Fellowship for students interested in pursuing geriatric social work. She is also a member of the NASW Gerontology Steering Committee, New York State Schools of Social Work Consortium on Gerontology and Social Work Education, NYC Social Work Education Consortium and the Greater New York Area Directors of Field Education Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI) Sub Committee.
