Eric Levine, DSW, MSW, LMSW

Director, Social Work Alumni Engagement & Financial Resource Development

     Dr. Eric Levine has had extensive experience in the not-for-profit sector with particular expertise in community organization, management, policy, fundraising, strategy, and change.  He began his career directing anti-poverty and social service agencies, grassroots organizing and leading community relations organizations in the Bronx.   Later, Dr. Levine held senior positions in the Jewish Federation movement, and he led Touro’s advancement and alumni program.  Dr. Levine earned the DSW and MSW degrees from Yeshiva University and had been an adjunct professor for 25 years, teaching courses in organizational theory, administration, community social work, ethics, social policy and ethnicity.  He has also been a dissertation advisor and field work supervisor.

     Dr. Levine is co-editor of a recently published two-volume work, has authored some 60 publications and is co-Editor of the journal, the Social Work Forum.  He has served on the boards of foundations, professional associations, and some not-for-profit organizations.  His current research interests focus on contentious politics and social protest movements; conflict and social change; organizational practice; ethics and social responsibility.
