The post-midnight survey also helps raise awareness about the importance of volunteer work, inspiring volunteers to help the homeless or others in need not only during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays but 365 days a year, said Commissioner Diamond. In participating in the event, Touro’s seven volunteers upheld a long-standing school tradition of recognizing a need and heeding the call to respond to it. “I always know that Touro is going to be here, and it’s comforting to know that,” said the Commissioner.
